Step 1: Double Check! One device not connecting is different to the network being down. Confirm that more than one device cannot access the internet, bbc.co.uk or cnn.com are good site to check with.
Step 2: If all devices have no internet access then the first thing to do is to report it to IT as a matter of urgency, we may already be aware through the monitoring that we do but it is always good to have confirmation. We might double check and confirm some bits like power and devices affected but we can then contact suppliers and get resolution times.
Step 3: Next is to do what you can to get some PoS devices online the card machines have SIM cards in so they should be ok next is to get the tills online and the quickest way is to tether to a phone. With the PoS Devices and card machines online then guests can be checked in and payments can be taken.
By that time we should have any updates from suppliers and can assist as best we can.
